Welcome to the Petersfield Framing Studios website.

We are a bespoke picture framers based in Petersfield, Hampshire. For all your picture framing requirements, why not give us a try? We can frame anything from photographs, oil paintings, watercolours, prints, posters, etchings, pastels, certificates, medals, tapestries and embroideries, pencil sketches, papyrus, newspaper articles. Basically, you name it and we can frame it!

Difficult to get to our work shop? Why not arrange an appointment for us to collect and deliver your picture framing.

Interested in learning picture framing? Try our one day or ten week picture framing classes. Alternatively you can purchase our picture framing tools with complete instructions or try some one to one tuition if you would like to learn in your own home at your own pace.

Opening Times.

Mornings - The Petersfield Framing Studios are open Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 1.00pm. At these times please feel free to come along to the workshop to choose your picture mounts and frames or collect orders that are ready.

Afternoons - These are dedicated to collection and delivery of picture framing at your home by appointment. However, if you would like to visit the workshop in the afternoon, please make an appointment to do this on 01730 269926 or click here to e-mail us to arrange a mutually convenient time in the afternoon.

 

 

As an example of some of our work, here is a recent picture that was framed by the Petersfield Framing Studios. The picture is an oil painting of the South Downs painted on two 4 foot by 4 foot panels. The customer requested that the oils should be framed together as one picture in one frame. I am sure you will agree the effect is a stunning view of one of the most beautiful areas of Southern England and a real pleasure to frame.

I have also recently written a book all about picture framing. This book builds on the instructions written for the tools we sell but also goes into more detail on such topics as:

Choice of materials (probably the most important aspect of framing), mount cutting, frame cutting and assembly, cutting glass, fitting pictures, hanging pictures, mount decoration, oval mounts and frames, double mounts, multiple aperture mounts, framing needlework, framing 3-D artwork, stretching and framing oils, to list but a few of the sections of the book.

The book is written in an easy to follow, step by step approach. The book is also heavily illustrated with at least one photograph for each stage covered of every skill.
